Cutting an avocado

Cutting an avocado

Avocados are one of my favorite fruits and I eat them often. To cut an avocado without peeling, cut it in half lengthwise by running your knife down the center and all the way around. Gently twist the two halves in opposite directions to separate them. Hold the half with the pit in the palm of your hand and carefully whack the pit with your knife. With the knife stuck in the pit, twist it out. Slice the flesh of the avocado lengthwise without cutting through the skin. Turn the avocado half and slice the same way crosswise. Use a medium spoon to scoop out the diced avocado by running it on the inside edge of the avocado skin.
